The Mid-Hudson Library System Battle of the Books program is open to middle- and high-school students.

Programs

● Middle School team members must be entering grades 5 through entering 8 in the fall.
○ Students entering 8th grade have the option of MS, HS or both. This can be left up to the discretion of the library coach.

● High School team members must be grades entering 8 through 12 in the fall.
○ Students entering 8th grade have the option of MS, HS or both. This can be left up to the discretion of the library coach.

Regional Battles

Teams will set up practice battles with neighboring libraries throughout the summer. The Middle School teams will gather on September, 6 2025 at Columbia-Greene Community College, Hudson, NY for a “round-robin” competition. 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners will be recognized. The High School Regional Battle will held on August 9, 2025, at the Poughkeepsie Day School in Poughkeepsie, NY. This competition will also be a round-robin tournament and 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners will be recognized.
